Study Purpose
This is a study to evaluate PRX-03140 in patients with
Alzheimer’s disease who are not taking medication for
the illness. The study consists of a 3-month doubleblind
treatment period and an optional 3-month extension
period during which all participants will receive
either PRX-03140 or Aricept® (donepezil).
You May Qualify if You...*
- Are between 50 and 90 years old
- Have a diagnosis of probable Alzheimer’s disease
or have memory problems that may be a
sign of
Alzheimer’s disease
- Are not taking cholinesterase inhibitors (Aricept®,
Razadyne®, Exelon® or Cognex®) for Alzheimer’s
disease
- Are able to attend all office visits
- Live with, or spend substantial periods of time
with, a regular caregiver who is willing to attend
all trial visits, oversee your study participation, and
report on your status
You May Not Qualify if You...*
- Have dementia other than Alzheimer’s disease
- Have taken Namenda® (memantine) within 2
months of enrolling in the study
- Have a history of uncontrolled seizure disorder
- Are taking MAO inhibitors, bupropion, fluoxetine,
paroxetine or quinidine
- Have a history of cancer
- Have enrolled in a previous study for PRX-03140
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding

Study Purpose
This is a 6-month study to evaluate PRX-03140 in
patients with Alzheimer’s disease who are also
receiving
a stable dose of Aricept® (donepezil).
You May Qualify if You...*
- Are between 50 and 90 years old
- Have a diagnosis of probable Alzheimer’s disease
- Have been on a stable dose of Aricept®
(donepezil) for Alzheimer’s disease for at least 3
months
- Are able to attend all office visits
- Live with, or spend substantial periods of time
with, a regular caregiver who is willing to attend
all trial visits, oversee your study participation, and
report on your status
